THE GARDEN STORY

Retail Construction Services, Inc. is dedicated to giving back.

We give back not only to those in need within our community, but also the future generations of this wonderful community. What started out as a great idea has grown exponentially and became an amazing reality. Here at the RCS Giving Garden, school groups, master gardeners, corporate volunteers, and our own employees work together for the common good of teaching children the art of gardening and the importance of healthy eating. Trinity Lutheran Summer Stretch Say "Weeds Be Gone!"

Weeds Be Gone! With the help of many Junior High and High School hands, the Trinity Lutheran Summer Stretch kids did just that! The main task at The Giving Garden today was to weed around the plants and mulch them and the surrounding paths with marsh hay.
We hope this will help keep additional weeds at bay, conserve moisture and protect plants from soil splashes. See Master Gardener Phyllis’ blog entry and lesson (from last week) to learn more about soil and mulch!

The strawberries are winding down, but a group of very thorough kids were able to pick five more containers to drop off at Valley Outreach! They smelled so delicious in my car on the ride to Stillwater! I just know someone will enjoy them today!

Thank you kids for your gift of service today! The garden is looking great! I hope your afternoon at MOA was a blast.
