Let's Get Our Hands Dirty!

Welcome back SPIN kids!

Gardening can be a great place to teach a little biology and introduce kids to the wonders of the natural world and likely to spark a change that will last a lifetime. Individual change is like a pebble in a pool and ripples out touching family, friends, acquaintances, community and finally society, of which these kids are a part.

We received an email from Tammy with the Stillwater SPIN program today! The staff is already planning their summer schedule, and once again the laughter of these great kids will grace the garden on Friday mornings begining on June 22nd.

With a 50 degree day forecast for the upcoming week, thoughts turn to bugs, worms, seeds, dirty hands, new tastes, new ideas, lots of smiles and a fruitful summer in so many ways... AND let us not forget BOB the scarecrow who will watch the fun for the first time this summer!

So, "Let's Get Our Hands Dirty"!

Over time, the phrase becomes a metaphor for life. We each start down a path towards a goal, but don't always fully commit to it. In gardening, as in life, you can tell when you are fully committed – it’s after you’ve gotten your hands dirty! Its going to be a really great year...
